We know what you're thinking: "What in the world is Galentine's Day?"
Allow us here at Stadium Flowers to answer you: it's a fictional holiday devoted to celebrating the love females have for each other, and it was first proposed in a 2010 episode of NBC's Parks and Recreation. Main character Leslie Knope took all of her ladies out to lunch on February 13 and proclaimed it "Galentine's Day . . . only the best day of the year." Since then, the idea has caught on, and women across the U.S. are making plans to get together and show their love for each other the day before Valentine's Day. Here at Stadium Flowers, we think one of the best ways to show someone you care all year long is to take advantage of a little program we like to call Flowers For A Year, which is exactly what it sounds like: a delivery of fresh, seasonal blooms to the recipient of your choice for 12 months. It's literally the gift that keeps on giving. Read More about How To Deliver Flowers All Year »
A 2008 study by American Society for Horticultural Science found that hospitalized patients who had flowers or potted plants in their rooms used less pain medication and had lower blood pressure overall than their flower-less counterparts. We here at Stadium Flowers aren't surprised; the healing properties of flowers have long been celebrated, from using them medicinally to extracting their essences for therapeutic purposes.
Get well flowers are a great way to make someone feel cared for as they endure cold and flu season, and it turns out, they just might help heal them, too. Read More about Happy Flowers For Better Health »
No one would dispute the uplifting effect flowers have on us. Studies confirm that they can enhance a person's mental clarity and promote a positive outlook. They clean the air, literally breathing life into a space. In fact, we can't think of a single bad thing about flowers, except for the fact that they don't last forever. Then again, that just makes us appreciate them more.
Stadium Flowers believes that there's no better time to bring as many flowers as possible into your living space than winter. Read More about Flowers Made For Winter »
When International Floral Distributors released their annual floral design trend report, we here at Stadium Flowers took note of one style in particular. Of the four identified, we're singling out "Positively Posh" in this week's blog. Why? It's so beautiful, for one.
The real reason to look ahead to 2018's most coveted styles is to feel inspired and renewed by the idea that floral design evolves. There's always room for creativity and invention, both on the part of designers and flower customers themselves. That said, the "Positively Posh" trend wouldn't be difficult for anyone to get behind. If you're going to someone else's house for Thanksgiving this year, come bearing more than your signature stuffing: bring a host gift. And make it flowers.
The tradition of offering a host gift is old and abiding and practiced all over the world. But while some cultures have real rules in place as to what to bring and when, we here in the U.S. have become a little more flexible in how we gift our hosts. Naturally, at Stadium Flowers, we think a bouquet is never out of style. Read More about Give Your Host Flowers »
If you ask us, mums are one of the most versatile blooms. They arrive in Fall and almost immediately appear in baskets and pots on front steps, at doorways or planted right into a flowerbed. They're popular because they're so hardy, and colorful, and happy looking, and affordable . . . We could go on. But we at Stadium Flowers also believe that maybe their best attribute is how flexible they are. In their infinite variety, they can appear in formal bouquets or in a planters pot as a flowering bush on your back stoop. Check out how we've used this adaptable little beauty this season.
